On Friday 7th December at 7:00pm, Côr Meibion Taf will be holding their annual Christmas charity concert at Penarth’s All Saints Church. The concert will mark the first time that the Welsh medium male voice choir, which was formed in 2004, has performed in Penarth. The choir will share the stage with Llinos Haf Jones, a talented local soprano who currently studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and pupils from Ysgol Pen Y Garth in Penarth. BBC and S4C presenter Owain Evans, who is also a member of the choir, will be the compere, guiding the audience through the programme.

Since their inception in 2004, the ensemble has regularly performed at the National Eisteddfod, at the Principality Stadium before international rugby matches and on radio and television in Wales and abroad. The choir’s musical director and soloist is Steffan Jones who was a choral scholar of Worcester College Chapel, Oxford before studying at the Royal College of Music. Accompanying the choir will be the accomplished Lowri Guy who is currently the Head of Music at Ysgol Garth Olwg in Pontypridd.

The concert is in aid of Prostate Cymru, the leading prostate health charity in Wales, and the evening’s guest will be Wales and British Lions rugby star Brynmor Williams who is an ambassador for the charity. The concert promises to be a prestigious start to Penarth’s Christmas festivities in the beautiful setting of All Saints. Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for children. Tickets can be purchased from Edryd Lloyd (07778 800153), Rhodri Jones (07770 559961) and Griffin Book Shop, Penarth.
