Meurig’s Welsh/Irish Tractor Challenge

Event: Meurig’s Welsh/Irish Tractor Challenge

Date Held: August 3rd, 2018

Organiser: Meurig Harries

Venue: Wales and Ireland

Meurig Harries (aged 76) is a partner in the haulage company M&S Transport, near Croesgoch in Pembrokeshire. Having recently undergone treatment for prostate cancer Meurig has decided on a challenge to raise money for Prostate Cymru. His proposed challenge is to drive a modern tractor approx 400 miles round trip from Fishguard through Ireland and back to Haverfordwest.

He will leave the local Fishguard Agricultural Show on Friday 3rd August travelling through Fishguard Port on Stena Line to Rosslare. Saturday 4th August will see him drive on from Rosslare to Dublin Port and cross back on Stena Line to Holyhead. Finally Sunday 5th August will see him drive down the west coast of Wales and back to Haverfordwest.

During the three day Pembrokehire County Show (14th – 16th August) the tractor will be on display for all show visitors to see and help with further contributions to Prostate Cymru.

Meurig will be hoping that on Sunday 5th on his way down through Wales local tractor clubs and enthusiasts will come and meet him at various points throughout West Wales.

Meurig has a JustGiving page open for donations as well as collecting sponsorship in person.
