Welcome to Prostate Cymru

The Big Cheese

Following a busy four days at the Royal Welsh Show in Builth Wells, our team headed to The Big Cheese in Caerphilly for the next leg of the charity’s summer roadshow, raising awareness of prostate diseases across Wales. Set in the shadows of Caerphilly Castle, the second largest castle in Great Britain, The Big Cheese festival brings together local and regional Welsh food and drink producers as well as charities and community services. Highlights at the event included a cheese run and medieval re-enactments.

The team including Head of Awareness Dai John, Community and Sports Officer Chris Leyshon and Marketing and Events Assistant Owen Pugsley braved the changeable weather on Saturday and heavy rain on Sunday to raise awareness of prostate issues and chat about what the charity does at the event. Despite the weather conditions around 120 people visited Prostate Cymru at the event and there were many positive discussions about prostate issues including benign prostate disease and prostate cancer.
