Cardiff Bus have chosen Prostate Cymru, the leading prostate health charity in Wales, as their nominated charity for 2019 – 2020. The public transport company, which carries 100,000 passengers on 3000 journeys every day, are keen to raise awareness and funds for the charity that supports men with prostate issues such as benign prostate disease and prostate cancer. Cardiff Bus runs almost 50 bus routes in Cardiff, Barry and Penarth including school and university transport.
Cardiff Bus, who have been transporting passengers in the capital and surrounding region for over 100 years, plan to support the charity by holding a Christmas raffle and a fundraising night in the club bar in addition to a number of other fundraising activities. Additionally, Cardiff Bus employees will be taking on sporting challenges such as The Big Walk 2019 and Cardiff Half Marathon for Prostate Cymru.
The team have already raised £1700 for the charity and are looking to fundraise for a full year. The company have a JustGiving page to raise funds online. Prostate Cymru looks forward to working with Cardiff Bus over the next year.
