A Full House for the 4th Annual Big Breakfast

The Last of the Summer Wine Breakfast Club recently gathered for their 4th Annual Prostate Cymru Big Breakfast, raising a fantastic £200. Special guest Brian Harries joined the group for the event, which was expertly managed by "Chef Di" and host Frank. From rustling up an excellent spread to keeping the tea and toast flowing under pressure, the team’s hard work ensured a successful morning. Huge thanks to everyone involved for their support and generous donations!

Rugby Legends Rock Broad Haven for Prostate Cymru

The Ocean Café, Bar & Restaurant recently hosted another hugely successful Rugby Legends fundraiser. Guests enjoyed an entertaining Q&A with Mike Ruddock OBE, Kevin Moseley, and Lyn Jones, followed by live music from ‘The Gowertones.’ The night raised an incredible £3,785 through proceeds and a raffle. Huge thanks to organizers Mostyn and Kay Davies, the Ocean staff, and everyone who supported this fantastic event for Prostate Cymru.

Camrose Vintage Show Success Supports Prostate Cymru

The Camrose Vintage Show returned this summer, bigger and better than ever. The organisers’ tireless work resulted in an incredible £33,000 donation to local charities, including £1,000 for Prostate Cymru. We are incredibly grateful to everyone involved for their hard work and generosity in supporting men across Wales.

Pembrokeshire Friends 100 Club Winner’s Generous Gesture

Pete Manning of Milford Haven recently secured first prize in the Pembrokeshire Friends 100 Club draw. In a wonderful act of kindness, Pete chose to donate his entire winnings to Prostate Cymru. A Birthday Milestone for a Great Cause

In December 2025, Val Johns of Narberth celebrated her 80th birthday by requesting donations in lieu of gifts. She raised a wonderful £400 for Prostate Cymru, a cause close to her heart. Committee members Judith Griffiths and Stewart Richards visited Val and Gordon’s home to gratefully receive the kind donation.

Gwasg Gomer show their support for Prostate Cymru by taking on the Cardiff Half Marathon with 8 staff members to raise a massive £3,300 for Prostate Cymru. Special mention to Carmartheshire secretary Jonathan Lewis and Wife Bethan for their continued support.

Val and Gordon Johns of Narberth

On Thursday, 15th January 2026, Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru committee members, Judith Griffiths & Stewart Richards, attended a cheque presentation at the home of Val and Gordon Johns of Narberth, to receive a very kind donation of £400.
In December 2025, Val celebrated her 80th birthday and asked for donations instead of presents.
She received an amazing
£400.00, which she decided to donate to Prostate Cymru as it is a charity close to the couple's hearts.

We’re delighted to share that an incredible £4,078.21 was raised for Carmarthenshire Friends of Prostate Cancer Cymru during Llandeilo Show Day 2025 🎉
This fantastic total was raised through the speed shearing and John Eirian’s hair shearing, which received wonderful support and generosity throughout the day.

Haverfordwest Golfers Tee Up £4,580 for Prostate Cymru

Huw Jones, Judith Phillips, and Kevin Watson of Haverfordwest Golf Club presented an impressive £4,580.16 to Peter O’Shea and Judith Griffiths of Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru. The funds were raised during their Charity Golf Day at the end of August, with Huw thanking all who played, sponsored, and donated to make the day such a success.

John Thomas Marks 80th Birthday by Giving Back After Prostate Cancer Journey

John Thomas of Narberth recently celebrated his 80th birthday with friends and family and requested donations for Prostate Cymru in lieu of gifts, resulting in a fantastic £510 for the Charity. John was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2019 when he requested a PSA test when called for an MoT at his local surgery, he subsequently received treatment and is now being monitored closely, this demonstrates the importance of being proactive and requesting a PSA test.

Pembroke Farmers Club Raises £3,100 for Charity

Prostate Cymru is delighted to have been chosen, alongside Pancreatic Cancer UK, as a beneficiary of a wonderful charity concert organised by Pembroke Farmers Club. The event, held at St Mary’s Church, Tenby, was presented by Brian Harries from Prostate Cymru and featured outstanding performances from the Tredagh Singers of Drogheda, Pembroke and District Male Voice Choir, and the Serendipity Singers from Narberth. Thanks to the generosity of all involved, a fantastic £3,100 was raised to be shared between the two charities.

CCF Raises £18,471.67 for Prostate Cymru

Prostate Cymru is delighted to announce that CCF has raised an incredible £18,471.67 over the past 12 months in support of our work. Their fundraising included Awareness Open Days, Car Treasure Hunts, the 3 Peaks Challenge, a Grand Raffle, and a 50p donation from every Blue Prostate Cymru Feed Bag sold. We are hugely grateful to the staff and supporters whose commitment made this achievement possible, helping us continue our vital work for men and their families across Wales.

A Remarkable Year of Service and Fundraising by Councillor Handel Davies

County Councillor Handel Davies of Llandovery has completed an outstanding year as Chair of Carmarthenshire County Council, excelling in his civic duties with the support of his wife Margaret while also going the extra mile for charity. Through events such as the Myddfai Road Races, Chairman’s Dinner, a concert, the Cefn Sidan Beach Walrus Dip, and an incredible 100-mile walk, he raised an impressive £5,100 each for Prostate Cymru and LATCH Welsh Children’s Cancer Charity, leaving a lasting legacy of dedication, generosity, and community spirit.

Bridgend Male Choir donate £400 to Prostate Cymru

A Huge thank you to Bridgend Male Choir for their generous donation of £400 to Prostate Cymru. The cheque was presented to our co-founder and chairman, Dr Andy Thomas, by Choir Chairman Gareth Reese.

The amount was raised from the choir’s annual luncheon, celebrating our 65th anniversary, courtesy of BBC Radio Wales presenter Roy Noble who declined a fee.

Dinbych Chapter Freemasons Support Prostate Cymru with Generous Donation

A generous donation of £600 has been made to Prostate Cymru by the Dinbych Chapter of Freemasons in Tenby, following the successful recovery of one of their members from prostate cancer. The contribution reflects the group’s gratitude and support for the vital work carried out by the charity. The donation was presented during a recent gathering, where representatives from both the chapter and the charity were in attendance.

Haydn Pugh’s Rugby Testimonial Benefits Vital Charity

Haydn Pugh, former Carmarthen Quins RFC captain and rugby star, helped raise £3,652 for Prostate Cymru during his testimonial match. The event also supported AutismAwareness.com, reflecting the strong personal connections of Haydn and Brian Jones from Castell Howell. Prostate Cymru, dedicated to prostate health awareness and support, greatly values this contribution. Haydn’s long rugby career and community commitment highlight the importance of backing charities that impact lives across Wales.

CCF Raises £20,000 for Prostate Cymru with Charity of the Year Campaign and Feed Bag Initiative

In 2024, Clynderwen and Cardiganshire Farmers Cooperative (CCF) chose Prostate Cymru as their Charity of the Year, working alongside the Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru. The partnership raised a remarkable £20,000 through staff and customer efforts across CCF’s 18 Welsh branches. A standout initiative saw 10,000 own-brand animal feed bags printed with prostate cancer awareness messaging—each sale donating 50p to the charity. The campaign powerfully combined awareness and fundraising across rural Wales.

Bois yr Felin Choir Raises £826 for Prostate Cymru with Community Performances

Bois yr Felin, a popular 22-member male voice choir from Bancyfelin and St Clears, raised £826.05 for Prostate Cymru through events like Cawl and Chan and carol singing at Tescos Carmarthen and Bancyfelin. The donation was presented by Prostate Cymru Chairman Graham Edwards to choir members Deryc Rees and John Daniels during a rehearsal. Their support highlights the choir’s commitment to raising awareness for men’s health across Wales. #savethemalesinwales

The Wolfe Inn Staff Raise £4,121 for Prostate Cymru with Big Breakfast Fundraiser

A huge thank you to the incredible staff at the The Wolfe Inn, Wolfscastle, who hosted a hugely successful Big Breakfast last November, raising £4,121.18 for Prostate Cymru. One generous diner added a further £60 after hearing about the cause. Stewart Richards and Simon Moffett accepted the cheque on behalf of Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru. With 1 in 8 men affected by prostate cancer, this event held deep personal meaning—two young attendees had both lost their fathers to the disease.

Cymdeithas yr Hoelion Wyth Donates £2,000 to Prostate Cymru After Charity Event

We warmly thank Cymdeithas yr Hoelion Wyth for their generous £2,000 donation to Prostate Cymru. The funds were raised through a big raffle and an entertaining night at Caffi’r Emlyn, Tanygroes, featuring the popular “Pam Lai.” Their support is invaluable in helping Prostate Cymru continue its vital work raising awareness and support for men’s health across Wales.

Tan-y-groes Welfare Committee Donates £1,500 to Prostate Cymru from Bingo Fundraisers

A heartfelt thank you to Lynn and friends from the Tan-y-groes Welfare Committee for their generous £1,500 donation to Prostate Cymru. The funds were raised throughout the year during Bingo evenings held at Caffi Emlyn. Ffab Cymru’s Big Breakfast Raises £2,000 for Prostate Cymru in Llandysul

For the third year running, Ffab Cymru Llandysul Community, led by Bethan Lewis and supported by Jonathan, hosted another fantastic Big Brecwast in aid of Prostate Cymru. This year’s event raised a brilliant £2,000, including a generous £500 donation from Swansea Building Society, thanks to Area Manager Sioned Jones. St Davids Farmhouse Brewery and Penknife Club Raise £4,000 for Prostate Cymru

For the fourth consecutive year, St Davids Farmhouse Brewery partnered with the St Davids Penknife Club to host a Prostate Cymru Big Breakfast—and once again, it was a tremendous success. At the club’s recent AGM, Mark and Emma Evans, along with family members, attended a formal presentation where £4,000 was handed over to Prostate Cymru. Chairman Geraint Richards proudly presented the cheque, highlighting the community’s continued commitment to men’s health in Wales.

Alpha Inn Fundraiser Raises £1,313 for Prostate Cymru and The British Legion

The Alpha Inn in Tavernspite, run by beloved locals Euros and Yvette Hughes, recently hosted a fantastic evening of musical entertainment featuring the Whitland Male Voice Choir. The event raised an impressive £1,313, shared equally between Prostate Cymru and The British Legion. Known for their warm welcome and charitable spirit, the Alpa Inn continues to support local causes—and due to this event's success, another fundraiser is already being planned for later in the year.

Sheepdog Trials Raise £910 for Prostate Cymru at Festive Event in Morriston

The festive season saw a special two-day Sheepdog Trials event hosted by Mike Edwards at his farm, Maes Yr Eglwys in Morriston.
