Talented artist and proud supporter of Prostate Cymru Tim Driscoll is taking on the 54321 cycle challenge again in 2020 for the charity. The challenge will be held from Friday 22nd May to Tuesday 26th May with three days of cycling an average of 70 miles per day and two travelling days. Riders will begin the 200-mile trip in Holland, cycling through Belgium before completing the challenge in France.

The entry fee for the challenge is £600 which includes travel, accommodation, most meals, sustenance during the ride, bike transportation, mechanical support, access to training rides, a cycling jersey and fully led rides each day of the challenge. In addition to the entry fee each rider must pledge to raise a minimum of £500 for the charity of their choice. This minimum of £500 will be match funded by the event’s very generous sponsors: Tiny Rebel Brewing Co and Whitehead Building Services.

Since taking part in the Normandy based challenge in 2019, Tim has kept up his cycling by taking part in The Five Valleys Sportive and several short local rides with his friends. Tim, an electrician from Pontprennau was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2015. Tim has been sharing his story on social media and was featured on the special BBC Radio Wales programme ‘Project Prostate: Welsh Men & Prostate Cancer’. Tim is a keen supporter of Prostate Cymru and has recently joined the Cardiff & Vale Friends of Prostate Cymru group.
