An Evening With Terry Walton

Enjoy an evening in the company of BBC Radio 2’s allotment guru Terry Walton for Prostate Cymru. Organised by the Inner Wheel Club of Milford Haven, the event will take place at 7:00pm on Friday 28th April at the Beggars Reach Hotel, Burton (near Milford Haven). The evening will feature a hot buffet supper followed by the amusing anecdotes and useful tips of Terry Walton, gardening guru on the Jeremy Vine Show on BBC Radio 2 and regular contributor to BBC Radio Wales.

Terry Walton has had a desire to garden since the age of four when he visited his father’s allotment. He took his first allotment plot at eleven years old and over fifty years later he still has one plot on the same allotment. He is known to most as the ‘born again’ organic gardener because of his strategic way of growing all his produce using natural means of nourishing them. Following his retirement in 2001, Terry began to broadcast from his allotment on the Jeremy Vine show on BBC Radio 2 and has since become a favourite with the listeners, sharing his gardening tips and growing experiences.

In August 2012 Terry was diagnosed with prostate cancer, which was a massive shock to many of his family, friends and followers. Terry is dedicated to helping prostate cancer sufferers within Wales by sharing the story of the discovery of his own cancer. Terry is an ambassador for Prostate Cymru and regularly raises awareness of prostate cancer as a member of the charity’s awareness team.
