Charity Fun Day

Llanelli-based construction company Morganstone has announced the date for the first Ammanford Cricket Club Charity Fun Day to be held on Sunday, July 3.

The Fun Day in association with Ammanford Cricket Club, is being held to raise much needed funds for Prostate Cymru and the Hywel Dda Urology Unit in Glangwili and Prince Phillip Hospitals.

A team from Morganstone, with guest appearances from the Ospreys, will aim to beat Ammanford Cricket Club as they play a cricket match at 3pm.

Not only with there be other cricket matches happening throughout the day, there will also be a bouncy castle, face painting, food and drink, an auction, and a raffle. Entertainment will be provided by Dawnswyr Penrhyd and local musician and singer, Jemma Krysa. The Fun Day will start at 10.00am and go on until late, admission is free.

MP Jonathan Edwards will be also attending the event and opening the Club’s new practice nets.

Prostate Cymru is the prostate cancer charity for Wales. Founded in 2003 and based in Cardiff, its goal is to improve Welsh prostate health all across the country through the improvement of equipment, training staff and raising the nations understanding of prostate disease.

The Urology Unit Prostate fund is one part of the Hywel Dda Health Charities which supports patients, staff and services within the Hywel Dda University Health Board. They exist to make a difference to thousands of people cared for by the University Health Board across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.

Jeff Roach, Chairman of Ammanford CC, said:

“We chose to support these two charities as sadly, both Morganstone and Ammanford Cricket Club have been widely affected by prostate cancer. Together, we want to do whatever we can to assist in fighting this condition. Hopefully the community will support the event and help us to raise as much money as possible.”
