Georgios Braves Alpe d’Huez

Georgios Exarchos will brave the Alpe d’Huez triathlon for Prostate Cymru in July 2014.

After graduating from medical school in Greece (Ioannina – 2005), Georgios came to the UK in 2008 working in a number of hospitals across the country.  He took up his current post as a Histopathology Registrar at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff  in 2013.

Georgios has had a keen interest in athletics from a young age and began his passion for triathlons in 2006 when he competed in the Tatton Park Triathlon in Manchester.

He has racked up an impressive list of sporting achievements and raised funds for many worthy causes along the way.

We are delighted that Georgios has chosen Prostate Cymru as his charity for this particularly gruelling event.    Please support him via https://www.justgiving.com/georgiosalpedhuez

The Alpe d’Huez triathlon has been run since 2006 and one of the most popular French Triathlons. The triathlon opens with a swim in the Lac du Verney reservoir, followed by the cycling which features the famous 21 bends as used by the Tour de France, which are notorious and the main feature of this triathlon. The triathletes climb 1120 metres by bike to the Alpe d’Huez ski resort for the run.
