Welcome to Prostate Cymru

Novel Gift Idea

Julia Horton-Powdrill, a committee member of the Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru group, is raising funds for Prostate Cymru by selling her novel ‘Single or Double?’. The book costs £10 and is sold entirely in aid of Prostate Cymru. It will make a great Christmas present or stocking filler.

‘Single or Double?’ is set in Pembrokeshire and follows the lives of people who live in Porthcwm. It is a light-hearted story about the wacky goings-on in the town, the weird romances and strange behaviour of the seaside town’s inhabitants. The book has received great reviews from two best-selling authors: Katie Fforde said, “It is a wonderful uplifting read from an exciting new talent”; Judy Astley said, “The craziest collection of characters in a thoroughly good fun story”.

Speaking earlier in the year, when donating £3000 of sales from her book, Julia said: “After my husband, Brian, died from this disease I became keen to support Prostate Cymru. It was frightening to learn that one in eight men will be diagnosed with the disease and one man every hour will die from it. I want to encourage women to keep an eye on the men in their lives: their husband, partner or lover, father, brother or son.”

All the proceeds from ‘Single or Double?’ are donated to Prostate Cymru. The book is available from Julia Horton-Powdrill who can be contacted via the Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru page or via Kindle on Amazon.
