Pembrokeshire Bike Ride

The Pembrokeshire Charity Bike Ride will take place on Sunday 6th August for Prostate Cymru, the Paul Sartori Foundation and Pembrokeshire Special Needs Gymnastics Club. The event was established in 2001 by a small committee of volunteers and has raised thousands for several worthy local charities since its inception. The bike ride is now run by a committee from the Haverfordwest Hornets Cycling Club. Thanks to excellent financial sponsorship from local companies the club ensure that 100% of the funds raised by the event are donated to the chosen charities.

The bike ride will start at 8:00am at Haverfordwest Rugby Club. There are three routes for participants to choose from: 17, 28 and 50 miles. The 17-mile route is a family friendly ride to Neyland Marina from Haverfordwest, though it is advised that children taking part need to be accompanied by an adult. The 28-mile route incorporates hills to add to the challenge whilst the 50-mile route tests the endurance of the cyclists as they ride to St Davids and back. All routes are on open roads and paths but there will be marshals situated throughout all three routes. Bike maintenance will also be on hand from Mikes Bikes.

When participants have completed their respective rides, they will be treated to refreshments and entertainment. Participants are encouraged to raise as much as they can in sponsorship to be in with a chance of winning top fundraiser. Children who raise at least £20 will receive free entry to popular Pembrokeshire attraction Folly Farm.

Participants can either register for the bike ride online via Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/pembrokeshire-charity-bike-ride-tickets-33547618831?ref=wpwidget or on the day at the rugby club.
