Rapikart Racing League, based in South Wales, aims to bring a competitive karting championship that utilises multiple local tracks at affordable prices. The racing league develops abilities in a competitive environment. Rapikart encourages hobby karters, returning serious racers or even rookies wanting to develop their race craft. Rapikart founder Gareth J Thomas’ 24 year karting experience stemmed from a local indoor karting championship that helped him develop from a complete novice to an accomplished racer and he hopes this racing league will inspire others to get involved with the sport.

Karts are provided by the individual venues but are usually Honda single engine karts. Equipment including helmets and suits are provided although participants are welcome to use their own. The race format can change depending on venue but generally the format will be made up of practice, heats, semi-finals and a grand final.

Prostate Cymru was the nominated charity for the league’s 2019 season and returns as one of the nominated charities for the 2020 season along with Prostate Cancer UK. This year, the series will have eight races across courses in Wales and England to challenge participants:

• 21st March – Round 1, Llandow
• 25th April – Round 2, Herefordshire Raceway
• 16th May – Round 3, Supakart in Newport
• 13th June – Round 4, Daytona Milton Keynes
• 11th July – Round 5, Carew Karting in Pembrokeshire
• 8th August – Round 6, Llandow
• 12th September – Round 7, Herefordshire Raceway
• 10th October – Round 8, Llandow

Even taking part in just one round will help support the two prostate charities. Find out more by visiting Rapikart’s website.
