Run For Ray support grows

On Monday 24th August Henry Durrant is beginning the challenge of running the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path (186 miles/299km) in one week, which equates to over 1 marathon a day for 7 days across very tough terrain.

The gruelling challenge is gaining support locally and nationally:

  • Two out of seven days of Henry’s run have been sponsored by Sue Pile and Dunraven Windows respectively.
  • At the end of July JustGiving, the global online platform for donating to charities and causes, featured Henry’s story and JustGiving page on their Facebook page which has a reach of over 240,000 Facebook users – great exposure to gain further support!
  • Carolyn Hitt, columnist at the Western Mail and WalesOnline, featured the event in a piece published at the end of July. Fondly remembering Ray and his rugby legacy, Carolyn urged readers to contribute to his charitable legacy by supporting Run For Ray.
  • Neyland Cricket Club, of which Henry is a member, have supported Run For Ray through donations. The club recently won the prestigious Harrison-Allen Cup in the Blue Riband of Pembrokeshire Cricket. The team, who were all wearing Prostate Cymru wristbands in support of Henry’s challenge (pictured), beat Whitland in a closely fought final.
