
Marco Oliver, Co-founder of Configur, has been appointed as a Corporate Ambassador for Prostate Cymru, marking his eighth year of dedicated support for the charity.
To celebrate this milestone, Marco has launched the 888 Campaign, aiming to highlight Prostate Cymru’s key aims of raising awareness, promoting early diagnosis, and funding vital support for those affected by prostate cancer.
The campaign focuses on three key goals; losing 8 stone, raising £8,880 to support Prostate Cymru’s initiatives and highlighting that 1 in 8 men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Marco Oliver is the Co-Founder and CEO of Configur Ltd, a position he has held since October 2019.
With over 17 years of experience in the data and technology industry, Marco has an extensive background working with organizations such as Hewlett Packard, The Office for National Statistics, and Sopra Steria in various capacities.
Transitioning to the startup world, he served as Chief Information Officer at a chatbot and AI company, where he met his co-founder, Josh Evans before they decided to embark on a joint venture, creating Configur.
Configur has expanded its team from 2 to 15 members in 5 years and raised over £1.7 million, building a growing client list across 15 sectors.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Marco is committed to giving back to the community through philanthropic activities, finding it a highly rewarding aspect of his life.
As a Business Ambassador, Marco plays a crucial role in strengthening relationships between Prostate Cymru and the business community.

Additionally, Configur hosted a successful Charity Golf Day, raising £4,000, and has committed to organising another event supporting Prostate Cymru.
Sharon Lowrie is joining Marco in his challenge running a half marathon in 2025. Sharon has spent her career leading successful business transformation through the application of technology. Sharon currently works in the Private Equity industry as a portfolio CIO helping fast growing companies maximise the use of technology.
Having witnessed her father’s battle with prostate cancer earlier this year, she understands the profound impact the disease has on families.
Thankfully, her father is now in recovery, and she is determined to use her experience to raise awareness and support those affected.
