Paul Maddocks Announced as New Business Ambassador

Prostate Cymru, the leading prostate health charity in Wales, is proud to announce the appointment of Paul Maddocks as its second Business Ambassador.

A dedicated supporter of the charity since 2014 and a prominent figure in the Welsh business community, Paul brings over twenty years of fundraising experience, personal passion, and professional acumen to this pivotal role.

Paul’s appointment marks a significant step in the charity’s mission to engage with the corporate sector, raise vital funds, and most importantly, spread life-saving awareness about prostate cancer throughout workplaces across Wales.

Paul Maddocks is a well-respected name in Welsh industry.

His journey began many years ago as an apprentice with British Gas, a foundation that launched a highly successful career.

Paul went on to found and lead Heatforce, a heating and plumbing business that became a staple of the local economy.

For over 40 years, he steered the company with distinction before it was eventually acquired by a larger group.

Far from retiring, Paul remains an active entrepreneur, currently involved with Jellyfish Business Solutions

It is this extensive experience and his vast network of contacts that Paul intends to leverage in his new role.

“I am absolutely delighted to become a Prostate Cymru Business Ambassador,” Paul said. “It means so much to me to give something back to such a great cause. Having run a successful business for four decades, I understand the landscape, and I am eager to use my experience to help the charity grow. Although I haven’t had prostate cancer, I have suffered from cancer myself, so the fight is close to my heart. I will continue to support this charity for as long as I can.”

One of Paul’s primary objectives as Business Ambassador is to champion the implementation of “awareness sessions” within Welsh companies, an initiative he has personally road-tested with incredible results.

In his previous role at Heatforce, Paul organised a “breakfast morning” awareness session for his staff.

Following the talk, several employees sought testing, and early diagnoses were made that otherwise might have been missed.

“The awareness talks are absolutely fantastic for a company,” Paul explained. “When we did it  at Heatforce, it saved at least a couple of people’s lives. We know that people went to get tested straight after that session. Just by one awareness morning, we saved lives within that one company.”

Fundraising remains at the heart of Paul’s contribution to Prostate Cymru.

For nearly a decade, he has hosted a highly successful Charity Golf Day held at Llanishen Golf Club, where he is also a past captain.

Paul is currently preparing for a landmark event: the 20th Annual Golf Day, scheduled for Thursday, July 16, 2026.

These events are not just fundraisers, but an opportunity for networking and community building centered around a shared goal of improving men’s health in Wales.

In his spare time, Paul can be found on the golf course a couple of times a week or enjoying well-earned holidays.

However, his focus remains sharp on his new responsibilities. As Business Ambassador, he aims to bridge the gap between the charity and the corporate world, ensuring that men across Wales are aware of their risk and the support available to them.

“My primary role now is to help promote Prostate Cymru to local businesses and further afield in Wales,” Paul said. “I want to use my business contacts to get out there and generate the support this great cause deserves.”

Prostate Cymru is thrilled to welcome Paul Maddocks formally as a Business Ambassador and looks forward to the continued growth of their partnership.
