Welcome to Prostate Cymru

South Wales Choir Raises Their Voices for Prostate Cymru

A remarkable project choir, made up of everyday men from across South Wales, has taken center stage raising their voices to support Prostate Cymru and encouraging men to talk about their health.

Brought together through music and a shared purpose, the choir includes many men who had never sung on stage before.

United by courage and community spirit, they came together to take part in a unique nine-week musical journey led by award-winning music director Matthew James Harrison

The project culminated in an unforgettable performance at Cardiff’s prestigious Dora Stoutzker Concert Hall at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama on 25th July 2025.

The concert marked the first live performance for most of the members and played to a sold-out audience.

More than just a musical achievement, the evening was a heartfelt celebration and shared commitment to a vital cause.

Through their collective efforts, the choir raised significant awareness and essential funds to support Prostate Cymru’s mission to fight prostate cancer across Wales.

The project, launched by Risca Male Choir, follows the choir’s continued commitment to community engagement and health awareness.

Their 2025 campaign, “Men United in Song South Wales,” invites men from all walks of life to come together, try something new, and contribute to a cause that affects 1 in 8 men in Wales.

With special thanks to Timothy Stone, Vice Chairman of Risca Male Choir and 2024 National Eisteddfod Champion, the success of this initiative marks a powerful moment of community action through music.

It sends a clear message: by standing together, and singing together, we can make a difference.
