Andy had been invited, along with Professor Luckackis from Paris, to the clinic to learn a new “Green Light” laser technique to treat benign prostate disease. Andy and Professor Luckackis observed sixteen cases over two days led by surgeon Fernando Gomez Sancha.
Andy Thomas will be pioneering and developing the technique in Wales over the next year. Andy is a consultant urologist at the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend, a centre of excellence for the treatment of benign prostate disease.
During his visit, Andy was also interviewed about men’s prostate health by Nedelia Shtonova, a consultant neurologist and medical reporter, for the leading health show on Bulgarian television.
