Elgan and Gill Evans are a well-known and a popular couple both in the village of Llanstephan and beyond. Recently they celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary and as Elgan had been diagnosed with early stages of prostate cancer they decided that instead of receiving gifts their family and friends could make donations to Prostate Cymru.
The donation’s raised £500 for the charity and when presenting the cheque Elgan stated that both he and Gill wanted to help others who are affected by prostate cancer and also to raise awareness of the disease.
The Chair of Carmarthenshire Friends of Prostate Cymru Deryc Rees in thanking Elgan and Gill said “We are very grateful for this excellent donation for Prostate Cymru which will assist men in Wales affected by prostate cancer and will also be instrumental in improving awareness and funding innovations”
