Rotary Club Art Demonstration

The event focused on the work of impressionist artist Claude Monet. Godfrey told the life story of Monet whilst painting in the style of the artist, replicating famous works. The audience were invited to the event to see Godfrey in action and to support an upcoming art exhibition which will be held on April 21st 2015. At his next exhibition Godfrey will be displaying approximately 50 oil paintings. These paintings will be available for purchase with all proceeds going to Prostate Cymru.

Godfrey was born in Llanelli in 1939. He first studied art at Llanelli Art School before moving to London to become a detective in the Metropolitan Police. Following his retirement Godfrey returned to Wales. Now aged 75, he paints for pleasure and charity. His wife Sally is also an accomplished artist specialising in pastel.
