The Big Celebration was back this February to celebrate all of our fundraisers and supporters in 2022.
Friday 10th February Prostate Cymru supporters joined at The Coal Exchange Cardiff for The Big Celebration to celebrate the amazing achievements of our supporters in 2022.
It was an evening filled with celebration and entertainment, with a three course meal, silent auction, and live band – Rock the Mike.
We had some incredible fundraisers in 2022, and it was so difficult to choose the nominees and even harder to decide on the winners.
The winners of the evening were:
Individual Fundraiser of the Year – Kath Jones who held a tractor run, was involved in The Big Breakfast in Kidwelly, as well as joining Prostate Cymru for The Big Trek to Machu Picchu, raising over £25,000.
Team of the Year – Llandeilo RFC whose players and supporters challenged themselves to cycle 304 miles over 3 days to mark the club’s 150th anniversary. The club visited every WRU founder member club throughout the bike ride and raised over £15,000 for Prostate Cymru.
Corporate Fundraiser of the Year – Motonovo Finance staff in the Collections Team took The Big Walk to a new level this year with over 100 members taking on the challenge. The team took part in our celebrity walks and hosted their own walk together. In total the team raised over £10,000.
Community Fundraiser of the Year – St David’s Penknife Club who has supported Prostate Cymru for 10 years with various fundraisers. In 2022 they hosted the Pembrokeshire Big Walk in July, generously providing a BBQ and entertainment for the walkers
Innovative Fundraiser of the Year – Oliver Ladbrooke-Davies and Dan Thomas who took on the darts challenge to break the Guinness World Record of “Highest Score in 24 hours as a pair” at their local pub, Town Hall Square. They raised over £2000 and are now World Record holders.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended, and to everyone who has supported us throughout the year.
The Big Celebration paid homage to our 20th Birthday and looked back at some of the incredible fundraisers and events we have hosted over the years.
