In its third year, The Big Walk 2016 was the biggest walk yet with 286 participants. Starting at the Prinicipality Stadium in Cardiff, the group walked 30 miles in 9 hours to reach the finish line at Kenfig Hill Rugby Club. The walkers received encouragement from Game Of Thrones actor Owen Teale as they set off from Cardiff for the physical and mental challenge.
Amy Foster and Paige Wilton of You Want Some Productions, a production company made up of five female Media Production graduates from the University of South Wales specialising in promotional videos and documentaries, joined the walkers on Saturday 11th June to capture the action on the day. Our proud ambassador Eddie Butler kindly offered his services to narrate the video. Eddie is a familiar voice to many as the former Welsh international regularly provides rugby commentary on the BBC. Eddie has participated in a number of Prostate Cymru events such as Touching The Sun (a volcano climbing fundraising expedition) in 2013 and hosts the annual ambassadors’ lunch.

The Big Walk 2016 is expected to exceed its previous fundraising totals with the amount raised likely to be in excess of £35,000. The sponsorship deadline for this year’s event is Saturday 23rd July. Walkers can send in their sponsorship money via post or pay it online via their JustGiving pages.
