The Members of Haverfordwest Round Table recently celebrated their 57th Founders Night at the Mariners Hotel, Haverfordwest. Current members were joined by a number of past members as is the tradition on these occasions as well as invited guests.
During an evening of splendid fellowship the current chairman Gwyn Nicholas gave the customary Chairman’s report and reflected on another successful year of fundraising and community projects. He also used the opportunity to stress the importance of recruiting new members into the club if the proud traditions of Haverfordwest Round Table are to be maintained. He went on to encourage all members to actively identify young professionals in the area who would enjoy the unique benefits of being a Round Table member.
A presentation was then given by John Daniels and Brian Harries who are secretary and chairman respectively of the Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru in which they highlighted the progress being made in the treatment of Prostate Cancer and in particular the need for increased awareness amongst all men in Wales when one in eight will be affected by the disease.
The evening concluded with Chairman Gwyn Nicholas making a presentation of £600 to John Daniels of Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru.
