Southerndown Golf Club Captain, Alan Davies, has chosen Prostate Cymru as his charity for his year of captaincy.
Prostate Cymru has numerous links with the club, with two ambassadors – Paul Porter and Peter Croke playing there in addition our founder trustee Ray Murray played there.
Alan has raised awareness for the charity by placing posters and flyers around the club during tournaments. He has been hard at work fundraising through tournaments. Most recently in October Alan held a golf day and luncheon featuring members of Glamorgan Cricket Club, including Mr Matthew Maynard.
The Club President, Derek King, has also been fundraising this year and decided to combine their efforts. This week they both visited Andy Thomas at Princess of Wales Hospital to donate their cheques totalling £3000.
