The Big Breakfast returns for its third year this November to raise awareness and funds for Prostate Cymru, the leading prostate health charity in Wales supporting men in Wales with prostate issues such as benign prostate disease and prostate cancer.
Rugby legend Sir Gareth Edwards CBE teamed up with actor Steve Speirs to launch the event this year with a special breakfast on the pitch at Kenfig Hill RFC. Gareth and Steve enjoyed a Big Breakfast in the sunshine and encourage everyone to get involved with a Big Breakfast event this November for Prostate Cymru.
The Big Breakfast is a fun, social event that can be held on any day in November. Whether you are a cereal lover or enjoy a full cooked breakfast, there are many ways to get involved and raise money:
- At home – Invite your friends and family around to share the most important meal of the day. Make your favourite breakfast or ask your guests to each bring a breakfast item with them to make a breakfast buffet. You could ask your guests to make a donation for your Big Breakfast. You could also sell badges, wristbands, or why not hold a raffle or run a tombola.
- At work – If you have a café or restaurant facility at your place of work, why not ask your employer to get involved, perhaps a donation from each breakfast, a simple bucket collection or raffle. If not, you could join forces with your colleagues and create a simple breakfast in the boardroom, perfect for early morning meetings!
- In your community – If you would like to invite a large number of friends and family members or perhaps hold a public event for your community, why not host it at your church hall, village hall or local pub to hold a really Big Breakfast to bring people together. Sports clubs are also often the heart of many communities across Wales and could provide a venue for large breakfast events for your local area, club or team to enjoy.
